The Alexandra Headland Rotary Club‘s annual Solstice Swim event attracted nearly 400 participants who braved cold weather and challenging waves to support local community organisations. The event successfully raised $46,000, which has been distributed amongst four beneficiary charities.
The winter swimming event demonstrated strong community participation, with hundreds of locals taking part despite the seasonal conditions. The event’s success reflects the ongoing commitment of the Sunshine Coast community to supporting local charitable causes.
The funds raised have been equally distributed amongst four local organisations:
The event was made possible through the support of numerous local sponsors, including:
PISA (Procurement Integrity Services Australia), IFYS, Innovative Planning Solutions, Blackburne Jackson, Sunshine Coast Council, Suncorp Bank, Cricks Volkswagen Sunshine Coast, Masterverse, GT Print, Structures Engineering Design, Okinja Early Learning Centre, and Nicholl & Young.
For RISE2 Foundation, the donation will directly contribute to creating safe and comfortable living spaces for families rebuilding their lives after experiencing domestic and family violence. The funds will be used specifically for furnishing new RISE2 properties.
The success of this year’s Solstice Swim demonstrates the effectiveness of community-driven fundraising events in supporting essential local services and charitable work on the Sunshine Coast.
